At Culture Consumed, our mission is to bridge the gap between agriculture and the public by tackling misinformation head-on and bringing clarity to the conversations surrounding food, farming, and animal agriculture. In a world where viral headlines, influencer opinions, and emotional documentaries often distort the truth, we provide a grounded, research-based perspective rooted in science and firsthand experience.

We are dedicated to educating consumers about how food animals are raised—with ethics, sustainability, and care at the forefront. Through deep dives into hot media topics, food labels, and consumer misconceptions, we aim to foster transparency and trust in modern agriculture.

By amplifying the voices of farmers and ranchers, sharing behind-the-scenes truths from livestock production, and dissecting the real impact of food media, Culture Consumed serves as a platform where curiosity meets credibility. Our goal is simple: empower people to become informed, confident consumers who understand not just what they’re eating, but how and why it’s produced.

Who's behind us?

Jenna Girman is a lifelong advocate for animal agriculture, a graduate researcher, and a passionate educator dedicated to helping consumers better understand where their food comes from.

Her story starts in the heart of the livestock industry—growing up surrounded by agriculture, showing animals, and staying actively involved in organizations that support youth in farming and ranching. That hands-on experience evolved into a professional commitment to bridge the growing gap between producers and consumers. With years of involvement in agricultural education and livestock events, Jenna brings a unique perspective that combines real-world farm knowledge with research-driven insight.

Pursuing advanced degrees in Animal Science, her academic work focuses on consumer behavior —specifically how people perceive meat products, how marketing and media shape their beliefs, and how food labels, visual cues, and headlines influence purchasing decisions. Her research has explored everything from pork chop palatability and marbling perception to the psychological impact of food messaging.

But her mission goes beyond the lab.

Frustrated by the spread of misinformation about livestock production—often perpetuated by documentaries, headlines, or social media—she launched Culture Consumed as a platform to set the record straight. This space serves as a meeting point between agriculture and pop culture, where she unpacks viral claims, hot topics, and controversial food trends with evidence-based clarity.

Whether it’s explaining what "factory farming" actually means, dissecting the truth about hormones and antibiotics in meat, or sharing how farmers raise animals ethically and sustainably, Jenna is committed to transparency. She believes that consumers deserve more than scare tactics—they deserve facts, context, and an honest look behind the scenes of modern food production.

Through storytelling, research, and real-world insight, she aims to reconnect people with the sources of their food—and the farmers and ranchers who make it all possible.
